A. Wahab Bakar has more than 35 years of substantive corporate experience covering both local corporations and multinational companies ranging from airlines (Malaysian Airlines), oil & gas (Exxon Mobil), mining (Malaysian Mining Corporation Bhd), financial institution (CitiBank Malaysia) and fast moving consumers goods (Nestle Malaysia/Singapore – manufacturing & retail). He was the HR Executive Director of Nestle Malaysia/Singapore prior to his retirement and served on the Executive Committee which exposed him to the bussiness operation and strategic direction of the company.

Upon retirement from active corporate service, he is a Freelance Consultant, Executive Coach (ICF certified), Mentor & NLP Certified Practioner. Whilst he is the subject matter expert in the whole gamut of HR management, his forte is on Organization Cultural Transformation, Performance Management, Talent Management & Development and Executive Coaching & Mentoring. 

Wahab speaks at local and international forum on HR management and represents employer at the meetings and sharing sessions in Singapore, Philippines, Korea, Japan, Brussels, Switzerland, China, India and Fiji. He was the Chairman for the National HR Steering Committee.

He is currently a Vice-President of Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF), and serves as Board Members of few companies. He also serves as Business/Corporate/Human Capital Advisor to few other companies. He represents International Organization of Employers (IOE) Geneva based organization for Asia Pacific on the Policy Forum for Development of European Commission.

He is a graduate in Economics (Applied Economics) from University of Malaya, alumni of International Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland and London Business School. Wahab is also the co-author of the book “Your Dream Job” published in 2009.

He was awarded Adjunct Professor from the Graduate Business School of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), currently serves on the Advisory Board of UUM/Industry. Actively involved as Board member in the subsidiaries of National University Malaysia (UKM) Holding company.
